On 11th May the presentation of the new Chanel collection, the Resort 2011, was held in Saint-Tropez. This collection has been especially thought for the summer holidays. The atmosphere was special, mainly for the choice of the location and of the catwalk. In fact the numerous guests were sitting in the red wooden chairs of Saint-Tropez's famous Sénéquier pâtisserie and many more onlookers piling onto balconies and pressing against barricades. But this is not all. The models traipsed down the street, used as a runway, often barefoot, wearing seventies diaphanous caftans, long crocheted dresses, ruffle-lapelled silk jersey trouser suits and patchwork denim skirts. The general mood (both models and guests) during the show was really a holiday mood. Here are some pieces of the collection that Karl Lagerfeld defined "very casual, very down-to-earth".
